Susannah Nesmith

Susannah Nesmith is an associate at Goren, Cherof, Doody and Ezrol, P.A. Ms. Nesmith’s practice primarily focuses on local government law.
Ms. Nesmith serves as an Assistant City Attorney to several of the Firm’s municipal clients, including the City of Pembroke Pines, the City of Plantation and Cooper City. As an Assistant City Attorney, Ms. Nesmith provides legal representation and support on all aspects of municipal government law for the Firm’s clients.
Ms. Nesmith previously worked as a Staff Attorney at the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, where she also worked as an ethics investigator. Ms. Nesmith’s first career was in journalism; she wrote for Bloomberg News, Columbia Journalism Review and the New York Times, among others, and she was a staff writer for the Miami Herald, the Associated Press and the Palm Beach Post. Before she settled in South Florida, she lived in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Chile and spent time in Iraq, Haiti and Venezuela. She is fluent in Spanish.
